Important. Sending us a payment does not create an attorney-client relationship.
Online Payment Processor. Online payments are processed through PayPal's secured servers, but you do not need a PayPal account to make a payment. When you reach the payment screen, if you do not see where to enter your credit card information, look for a link entitled "Don't have a PayPal account?" Click it to enter your credit card information. For your security, our office does not collect or retain your credit card information on our website.
Account Number. Clients are given a separate account number for each matter we handle for them. So, please be sure to include the correct account number to ensure the appropriate account is credited for the payment. If you are not yet a client, nor paying on behalf of a client, you may leave the account number blank or type a short message indicating that you do not have an account number.
Process. Once a online payment is received and available, those funds are immediately deposited electronically into our firm "IOLTA" account, which is a special account designated to hold client funds. Those funds remain in our firm IOLTA account until those funds are earned or we incur expenses related to your case. Additionally, if necessary, we immediately deposit into our IOLTA account an amount equal to any fee charged by the credit card processor. So, your account with us is credited with the full amount of your payment. Please refer to your fee agreement for more information.
Paying on behalf of a client? In order to credit the proper account, if you are paying on behalf of a client of ours but do not know the account number, please send us a follow up email from the email address you entered when making your payment (or linked to your PayPal account) to confirm your intention to pay for one of our clients.
Refunds. In the event we refund any part of an online payment, the refund must be processed through the credit card or PayPal account used to make the payment. If the payment is made by someone other than the client, we will need written consent from the client to refund the payment to that other person prior to processing the refund. Because of rules governing the handling the client funds, online payment refunds may take longer to process than what one might normally expect. So, once a refund is initiated, you should plan on at least two weeks before your refund appears on your credit card or PayPal account.
Discount. The online payment discount offer applies only to current legal fees due on your invoice and which are paid before the date indicated on your invoice. The discount does not apply to expenses we incur in representing you.
Minimum Payment Amount. We require a minimum payment of $25 for online transactions unless the total amount due is less than or equal to $25. Payments of less than $25 for accounts with an outstanding balance of more than $25 will be refunded to the payor.
